Alien Swarm

I was introduced to this game a few days ago. Its called Alien Swarm and it is on Steam. The great thing about it is that it is FREE. That word is music to my ears and I bet it is to most of you. I played the game for a few days and I was blown away how great it was for a free game. It’s a top down view game with one campaign and seven levels, each getting progressively harder. You can go through that campaign with three of your friends or just find a game in the public servers. There is easy, normal, hard and insane modes. There is your Officer, Special Weapon, Medic, and Tech characters to choose from, each having their own specialties. As you kill more and more aliens you level up. Twenty seven is the highest level but you can promote yourself three times, which like in the Call of Duty games “Prestige Mode” makes you go back to level one and lose all the weapons you unlocked. When I first played the game the graphics amazed me. The small details, like snow falling, pipes leaking, the way the alien’s insides burst out and much more. As you play more and more you get good enough where the hard difficulty will be your default place. But when you play insane, this is where teamwork and strategy comes into play. Aliens are twice as strong and you run out of bullets twice as fast. For a free game that I thought they could have at least charged $5 for I would strongly recommend this game. Killing Time & Getting Owned

I had about an hour to kill before my shift started at work so I headed to the arcade. As usual, lots of people are crowded behind Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter: Third Strike. After watching a couple of matches, I went to the Tekken 5 arcade. I had a couple of quarters so I decided to play a match or two as Raven.
At first, it felt a little bit weird. I never played Tekken using a joystick but i got used to it quickly. After I lost the first round, my opponent was like, "Dude, you suck." I was trying to be as modest as I could, so I just let him talk. I then beat him in the 2nd round and he was all like, "That's nothing." I beat him in the 3rd round which ultimately wins the match and he wanted a rematch. He put his quarters in and we battled. He was again talking trash, but I just bit my lip. I kinda got a feel for the controls now and i easily took him out. This went on for about 10mins and he at least put $2.00 worth of quarters into the machine (its .25 to play). This guy is forever talking trash, I take him out and he's very quiet. I say, "What, nothing to say? I guess you realized you need to shut the hell up. That's what I would do if I know I didn't stand a chance."
This guy behind me is watching the game and says, "This guy thinks he's great in tekken. A yo, let's take him out." This korean guy decides to challenge me. raven vs. christi. I got owned. He got two perfects on me. I use the other quarter i have for a rematch. I won one round, but he brought the pain again in the last two.
As i walked out the arcade, the first guy is like..."That's right, take that walk of shame....you suck!!!" Damn....
